Our sources & editorial process
How We Work
Some of Texas’s best-known neighborhood restaurants have menus that are surprisingly hard to find. We help diners discover those local favorites and turn scattered menu information into guides they can actually use.

The reason for the site
Local recognition does not always mean an easy-to-find menu.
A café may be a neighborhood institution, a taco restaurant may have generations of regulars, and a barbecue spot may be well known across town. Yet a diner searching online may find only a menu photo, a difficult-to-read PDF or a few incomplete details.
Texas Restaurant Menus brings those details into a more accessible format. We organize dishes and available prices, explain meal sizes and included sides, and help readers understand deals and ordering formats before they visit.
Our focus includes hidden gems and established local favorites. A restaurant does not need to be unfamiliar to locals to be difficult for a new visitor to research.
Where the information comes from
Restaurant information first. Direct contact when details are missing.
Different guides have different sources. Some restaurants publish a useful online menu; others need to be contacted for a copy or clarification. We use information closest to the restaurant and consider the branch, menu version and ordering method when comparing it.
Menus supplied by restaurants
When online menu information is missing or limited, we contact the restaurant for help. We present the menus and material it supplies with permission, making the information easier for diners to read and use.
Official websites, PDFs and menu photographs
A restaurant’s own menu pages, downloadable menus and supplied printed-menu photographs help establish dishes, prices and meal details. A menu photo or PDF is useful source material even when its original format is difficult to browse on a phone.
Official offers and ordering information
Restaurant promotion pages and official ordering channels help clarify offer windows, included items, pickup or delivery conditions and location restrictions. An ordering price may differ from a dine-in menu price.
Location listings and reader reports
Business listings and mapping information can help us check addresses and contact details. Reader reports and customer photos can flag a possible change, but a customer upload alone does not establish the restaurant’s current menu or price.
Permission applies to the material a restaurant shares with us. It does not mean every guide was obtained through direct contact or that a restaurant has endorsed our independent commentary. Direct contact also may not provide a public menu link; where an official online source is available, it gives readers another way to check the information.
From menu material to a useful page
We work on the details that affect an order.
- Identify the restaurant and location. Match the material to the relevant branch and menu type, such as breakfast, dine-in, pickup or a special offer.
- Gather the menu and resolve gaps. Use the restaurant’s material and contact it where help is needed. If two sources disagree, check their context rather than treating them as interchangeable.
- Organize the information. Present dishes and available prices in readable sections, keeping portion sizes, piece counts and selling units clear.
- Add practical explanation. Explain included sides, sharing formats, time windows and conditions where the information supports it. Separate planning estimates from restaurant-published quantities.
- Revise as changes are confirmed. Use restaurant updates, source checks and correction reports to identify information that needs attention.
Missing information stays a gap to resolve. An uncertain price, ingredient or inclusion should not become a confirmed menu fact simply to complete a table.
Understanding freshness
An update date needs context.
Menus and offers can change between checks. We maintain guides as changes and corrections are confirmed; there is no single date on which every restaurant on the site becomes current at once.
A page update
Records work on that page. A wording, layout or link correction does not establish that every menu price was checked again.
A source or menu check
Relates to the information checked against that source at that time. It does not guarantee future availability or identical pricing at another branch.
Use each guide’s available source notes and dates to understand its context. The date on our homepage or this process page applies to that page, rather than the entire directory.
Confirm with the restaurant before ordering or making a special trip. Location, serving time, ordering channel, substitutions, tax and additional charges can affect the final bill.
Beyond the menu
Deals need conditions. Tools need clear assumptions.
Our deal guides explain the published requirements that determine whether an offer fits a visit: dates, times, eligible items, participating locations, purchase requirements and any app or loyalty conditions. A chain promotion is not automatic confirmation that every local branch participates.
Our free planning tools help visitors use their own choices, quantities and budgets. Quantity calculators use serving assumptions; the bill splitter uses receipt figures entered by the reader; nutrition comparisons use selected published entries or label information supplied by the user.
A calculated result is a planning aid. It is not live restaurant stock, checkout pricing, a reservation or confirmation of an ingredient’s suitability. Each tool explains its coverage, inputs and limitations.
Help improve a guide
Tell us which detail has changed.
If a menu item has been removed, a price has changed or a branch has closed, send us the relevant information through our contact page. Include:
- The restaurant name, branch and guide URL.
- The specific item, price, offer or location detail that needs attention.
- A current restaurant link, menu copy or dated photo, if available.
We review reports and check the supporting information before making changes. Some corrections need clarification from the restaurant. We do not promise a fixed response or publication time.
For restaurant owners and staff
You can send a current menu, clarify an offer, correct branch details or raise a permission or removal request. Please identify your role and provide a way to verify your connection to the restaurant. A menu shared directly can be helpful even when you do not publish one online.
Tell us what material you are providing and what permission accompanies it. Use the contact page for updates and listing questions.
Who is responsible
An independent guide, edited by Rizwan Ullah.
I created Texas Restaurant Menus to make local dining information easier to find and understand. My work includes gathering menu information, contacting restaurants for missing details, presenting supplied menus with permission and maintaining the guides.
Restaurant-supplied facts and permission to use material are part of sourcing. Editorial explanations, comparisons and planning assumptions remain the responsibility of Texas Restaurant Menus. A listing is not a claim that we personally visited or tasted every dish.
Advertising, where displayed, is separate from menu information and editorial recommendations. A correction is assessed on the information supporting it. For more about using the site, see our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
