Reata Menu & Prices
Named after the fictional ranch in the 1956 film Giant, Reata has survived an F3 tornado, two relocations, and thirty years in Fort Worth — returning to The Tower’s ground floor in July 2024. Browse lunch, dinner and weekend brunch prices, then build an order for your visit.
A West Texas rancher’s restaurant, three decades on
Reata began with Al Micallef, owner of the CF Ranch in the Davis Mountains, who partnered with Fort Worth businessman Mike Evans to open the first Reata in Alpine, Texas in 1995 — naming it after the fictional cattle empire in George Stevens’ 1956 film Giant, starring Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean.
A year later Reata came to Fort Worth, taking the 35th floor of the Bank One Tower. On March 28, 2000, an F3 tornado tore through downtown Fort Worth and devastated the building. Reata reopened in the same tower just 42 days later — the first tornado-damaged business in the city to reopen — but closed again in January 2001 when the building itself couldn’t continue. The restaurant spent the next 22 years at Sundance Square before a lease that wasn’t renewed sent it looking for a new home in 2022. In July 2024, Reata moved back into The Tower — the very building it opened in back in 1996 — this time on the ground floor at 530 Throckmorton Street.

Plan Your Reata Visit
Choose an occasion and how much you want to order. The planner builds a suggested dinner for one person using the prices below; these are à la carte selections, not set-menu offers.
Drinks, tax, tip and extra sides are separate.
Choose the service before comparing prices. Lunch includes Janie’s Chipotle Meatloaf at $14, grilled cheese at $13 and Carne Asada with one cheese enchilada at $17. Dinner’s $37 Carne Asada listing includes cheese enchiladas and is a different meal format. For another Southwestern dinner menu, compare Bonnell’s.
Three things to know before you order
Calf fries are the real thing
Calf fries are breaded and fried calf testicles, also called Rocky Mountain oysters. They are an organ-meat starter rather than potatoes or an ordinary beef cut. Reata serves them with cream gravy at $14. If you prefer another starter, compare the crab-stuffed jalapeños or onion rings.
Three ribeye listings, three ways to order
The 20oz Cowboy Bone-In Ribeye is $85. The Blackened Buffalo Ribeye is $67 and uses bison. The separate charbroiled beef ribeye is $3.95 per ounce with a 14oz minimum: at least $55.30, or $79 for 20oz, before extras. Ask about available weights and included accompaniments.
Dessert Tacos have been here since Alpine
Crisp sweet shells filled with caramelized bananas and finished with chocolate gravy — Reata’s most iconic dessert, on the menu since the original 1995 location. If you’re deciding whether to save room, save the room.
What can go in the $15 Saddle Pack?
Choose two listed components: a cup of soup, field greens salad, Caesar salad, half club sandwich, one tenderloin tamale or half grilled cheese. The wedge salad option adds $3.
For example, half a grilled cheese plus a cup of soup is $15 before tax and tip. A half club with the wedge option is $18. These are smaller components of the lunch combination, rather than two full entrées.
Dining with six or more? The restaurant’s linked menus list a 20% service gratuity. Six $33 redfish mains total $198 in food plus $39.60 gratuity, or $237.60 before tax, drinks and other items. The planner above shows one person’s food subtotal.
